About the R&R series
In 2002 while the country was going through an economic recession, I was recovering from my third heart surgery. This is when I began my Recession Recovery paintings. This series of works is smaller in scale than my customary size and are mixed media on canvas. These canvases are then mounted on blocks of Styrofoam. This makes these works of art very light weight very durable and unlike traditional wooden stretchers will never warp. This collection of works is a part of an ongoing series of abstract expressionist paintings I refer to as "the paint store floor."
